Wedding DayThe name Olivia Ryan was dreamed up at a meeting with my editor when 'Tales from a Hen Weekend' was accepted for publication. We decided the 'Tales from' series was a little different from my previous books and needed its own life, with in effect its own author!

I've enjoyed the opportunity to be two people at once and particularly liked having a younger-sounding name! Little did I know at the time that 'Olivia' was about to become the most popular name for baby girls.

I'm an Essex girl, living now in a village near Chelmsford with my husband Alan and Burmese cat Charlie. I have three married daughters, a little grandson and three baby granddaughters.

Until my recent retirement I worked as a secretary (a medical secretary for most of my life), writing in my spare time. I'm now a full-time writer.

When not writing, I like to relax by reading, walking, swimming, going to pubs and restaurants and seeing my family and friends.

I am passionate about my writing and love to hear from my readers. I also enjoy giving talks about writing to writers' groups and other organisations, and book signings.
