Tales From a Hen Weekend and Tales From a Wedding Day are the first two books in the Tales From series, which set out to explore the key defining moments in a woman’s life.
Although each book is a completely separate story, with different characters, they have a common theme of the emotional backdrop surrounding major events which are familiar to most women. Whether it’s yourself, your daughter, your sister or a friend, most women know someone who’s been married recently or is soon to get married, and we all know about the maelstrom of emotions surrounding these events – not just the excitement and happiness, but all the underlying tensions, too!
Every family, and every group of friends, is different of course – but I think most women will recognise something or someone in these stories: the anxieties, regrets and perhaps jealousies bubbling away under the surface, to say nothing of the shared memories, confidences and secrets that start to emerge as the atmosphere hots up!
These are light-hearted stories of love and humour – but, like real life, not without their sad and tender moments.
